As hard as it is to say goodbye, euthanasia of a pet at home is a peaceful process. I take great pride in providing this special service and making it as compassionate and peaceful as possible. I wrote a chapter in a leading veterinary textbook, Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine on home euthanasia hoping to share my many years of experience with fellow veterinarians. There are several options for aftercare of your pet's body. Private cremation with return of your pet's ashes to you is the most common. Another option is communal cremation where your pet is respectfully cremated with other animals and the ashes are scattered. The last two options are burial of your pet at home or at a pet cemetery. Dr. Kelly can help you with your decision and arrangements for the aftercare of your pet. |
